Lansing, MI (PRWEB) November 29, 2004 -- J. Nelson Arts was established in June 2003 by Donyell J. Nelson of Novi, MI. Nelson, a full time Journalism student at Michigan State University, has had a passion for business since she was a small child.

I started J. Nelson Arts when I was 19 years old as a promotional album design service with a small selection of scrapbook supplies. I was so pleased that I had come up with an idea that allowed me to put my passions for crafting and business together. In 2004, I decided to phase out the album design service to focus on selling craft supplies in general and a few gift items Nelson says.

J. Nelson Arts carries product lines well known in the crafting industry including Making Memories, Fiskars, K & Co. and Jolees Boutique. But they also carry several product lines from smaller manufacturers.

Nelson says, I look to carry unique products from lesser known manufacturers because I want customers to have a reason to shop with me as opposed to the several hundred other online stores. For example, we are currently the only distributor in Michigan for Kidworxx products, which are a line of products dedicated to preserving childrens artwork. We are also one of the few distributors in Michigan to carry Greeting Cakes, which are edible greeting cards.

J. Nelson Arts has recently added a new division to their company. TheCraftGuru.com is a site that offers a bi-weekly online craft tips newsletter, as well as a quarterly print newsletter.

Our first print newsletter comes out in January. I am quite excited. Being a journalism student, I have learned how the publishing process works but I never imagined I would have my own print publication at such an early age.
