Small Town Family Owned Business Goes Global Via eBay!
(PRWEB) November 27, 2004 -- As they put it, they started out with $1500 and a few items they thought others might buy. They put together a booth at Backyard Antiques in Clinton, just before Labor Day weekend, which is a HUGE weekend for this small town of less than 3000 people. That weekend their town hosts the Annual Chuck Wagon races.
To their delight they sold quite a few items and really started seeing the impact this business would have on their lives. Just a month after they got started they had to upgrade to a larger size booth, which they have now filled to the brim with their wares, as well as Ramonas house!
So now, they have decided to go eBay. Just 4 weeks ago they started selling on eBay and have already built a feedback rating of 30 and are running at 100% positive feedback. They ship 3 times a week, except on holidays.
Currently in their store they have 20 categories for their customers to choose from, anything from antique glassware to brand new items.
Some of the antique items they have right now include: Hoosier, Fenton, Nippon, Noritake, Van Briggle, Heidi Schoop, Wexford, Halls Superior, Fire King, Jadeite, Pink Shell, Carnival Glass, Red Glass, Amethyst Glassware, many many more.
They also carry brand new items like; laser cut crystals, patchwork figurines, elephant figurines, lighthouses, cats, dogs, and many other animals. They also have clocks, tables, garden décor, and now are pulling in Retro designed items, to bring back those 70s styles people love so much. Also being added to the storefront is clothing items, new and used, watches and jewelry, and automotive pieces antique and new.
This grandmother, granddaughter team also take items on consignment, they will sell your items for a specific percentage of each sale, within 2 hours drive from their homes in Clinton. For more information on this see the contact information below.
These women are proving that ANYONE can make a full time income on eBay, with little or no experience. Ramona is in her late 60s and didnt have a clue about Ebay, except for purchasing. Tonya is a wife and mother of 2 young girls ages 2 and 7, which leaves her little time for much work, and they are still making good money on eBay.
Their current storefront stock is at about $25, 000 worth of items for sale and by Feb/March 2005 they estimate that they will have between $100,000 and $250,000 worth of items for sale on eBay.
If we can do it, anyone can. Says Tonya of their business.
Ramona included: Go for it, we didnt think it would turn into such a huge business, we started out with a few yard sale items and $1500 invested into new items and it turned into a full time business.
With those two quotes from these ladies, it goes to prove that even if you live in a small town, and only have a little money to invest you can start a business and succeed!
